I do have a wire from the kit labeled hazard. Looks like I will be playing with wires tonite. to the black lead? maybe then it will work as kamel described. I'm thinking I need to separate the 2 wires going to the brown wire (they were both wired into a female spade connector when I received the kit, so I left them together) but not sure where to route the brake light switch wire. I have 7 wires and have routed them as follows (got this from a previous search of the threads on this site).Ä«rown:Brake light switch & Brake light power Just went out to look at how I have the turn signal wired (a Sparton SCS-3R ). I'm guessing that since this was a generic kit that it assumes different lights will be used for the turn signals and brakes. Glenn, I rewired my Jeep using a 20 circuit kit from EZ2Wire and just verified that I only have 4 wires running to the rearend of the jeep: It gets a little more complicated if you have 4 way flashers, but the 4 way system is an add on, and does not materially change the basic circuitry. ![]() The connection between the brake switch and the LEFT tail lamp is broken by the turn signal switch, and the 12 volts that is passed to the left tail lamp comes from the flasher circuit. So, lets say the turn signal is on left turn, and you press the brakes, the 12 volts goes 'normally' to the turn signal from the brake switch and passes through the switch to the RIGHT tail lamp. Note that each wire is separately connected to the turn signal on two different points, so that each wire going aft can be controlled separately. When you do not have the turn signal on and depress the brakes the 12 volts should go through the turn signal and back to the tail lights on, if I remember correctly, the orange and yellow wires. ![]() ![]() From the turn signal there should be two separate wires going back to the rear brake/turn lights. When the brake switch is activated the 12 volts passes to the turn signal. You should have 12 volts on the brake switch (brown wire).
